Coming soon to Smallman Street  is a great new distillery called The Port of Pittsburgh. After many years of planning, the Port of Pittsburgh Distillery will open in Summer 2018 and will be located at 2613 Smallman Street in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.

Quoted from the Port of Pittsburgh’s Facebook page, the distillery’s owner Blake Ragghianti states, “Anybody can distill alcohol. In itself, it is merely a product. Fine spirits, on the other hand, are far more difficult to coax into being. This is because they are more than just alcohol and far more than a commodity – they are culture ...At Port of Pittsburgh Distillery, we believe that a truly fine spirit can do something even more profound
– it can turn ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. This is our goal and the true measure of our success.” I had the privilege of speaking with Mr. Ragghianti, and asked him questions about the upcoming distillery.

When will the Port of Pittsburgh be officially opening?

We are planning a public event, hopefully September 1st, 2018.

What all will the distillery offer to the public?

This distillery will be unlike anywhere else. We will not only make our own liquors, but we will have a full kitchen, and a ball room upstairs. We are very excited to be different from every other distillery around.
