When it comes to Deli on North, there are no tricks, gimmicks, or hidden agendas. It is just a simple friend and family run business featuring delicious salads, sandwiches, and paninis made with fresh ingredients. Deli on North, and its partnering restaurant, Deli on Butler, are run by The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Alumni, Pietro ‘Pete’ Notarangelo and Gary Gigliotti. Their goal is to provide tasty food at a great price in a home-like atmosphere. And aren’t those aspects all that matter when choosing your next lunch location? Here is what Pete Notarangelo had to say about his deli:

What is the history behind Deli on North Ave?

My business partner and I met at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. We both come from big Italian families, so food has always been an important part of our lives. After working for other people for so long, we decided to open our own deli with the help of friends and family. We designed everything from top to bottom, including the menu. Deli on Butler opened about 10 years ago and Deli on North opened 8 years ago.

Why should people come to Deli on North?

The main attraction at Deli on North is that we really care about our customers. We ask every customer their name and try to remember it the next time they visit us. We also try and remember their order and offer them other things that they might like. People like a place where they can feel comfortable, and we try to provide that. We feel that our customers feel comfortable enough to give us positive and sometimes negative feedback. We just started the Rubion last week because one of our loyal customers suggested it. We want to offer something for everyone, ranging from college students to workers on their lunch break.
